Linlithgow Aspires began in 2008 with the Linlithgow Business Association, West Lothian Council and local Councillors. The first major step was an event delivered by Minister for Enterprise, Energy and Tourism, Jim Mather MSP which was attended by over 100 community members.
The findings of this event gave a strong message that Linlithgow needed to be both protected and developed to remain sustainable for the future. These were then evaluated and an action plan was drafted to manage a series of steps to address Linlithgow’s community, heritage, environment, tourism and economic future.
To ensure that everyone’s needs and views are represented Linlithgow Aspires launched a campaign in February 2009 to secure representation from all community members and organisations before project discussions started.
Linlithgow Aspires is a group that has representatives from diverse aspects of community life from Council, business, community, heritage, environment and tourism. Find out who your representative is here.
Linlithgow Aspires meets on a regular basis to debate and agree a step by step plan to protect and develop Linlithgow for the long term future. This is a process which has proven very successful in other similar UK towns.
Find out when the next meeting is being held here.
Linlithgow Aspires will coordinate this long term project for Linlithgow, based on a proven successful structure and communications process established by a company called Big Town Plan which works throughout the UK. Find out how to get involved
